I'm doing the requisite "Happy Holidays" post today. The reason I felt so inspired today (as opposed to next week) is that last night Fuu took me on a whirlwind trip to help her get the Merry Maker title, and I got a pair of good pictures. The one I'm particularly fond of being located just to your left. Stereotypical reindeer with gnome crossing the moon...check. Even so, I don't particularly care for the title: I'm a warlock. However, there are cash and prizes involved, so I'm game. Killing stuff? Added bonus, though it seems sacrilege to waste precious game time on something as silly as holiday cheer.
Blizz puts a lot of thought into their seasonal stuff, though. Even though people may complain about the sameness from year to year, etc, I have to disagree with that angle of QQ. I have played a fair number of other MMO's, and not one of them were nearly as seasonally friendly as WoW. Sure, some of them had festivals and what-nots, but seasonal excitement is yet another area where Blizzard sets the bar for polish and inventiveness, though there is room for improvement. There is ALWAYS room for improvement, but don't look a gift-mount in the mouth, as they say.
So, with that in mind, I'll partake in some limited time, seasonal events. Why not? I can always go back to the "real" game later. Plus, like I said... cash and prizes.
As such, I grabbed a few clever screenies for your viewing pleasure. If I were more ambitious, I'd print this out and insert them with my Christmas cards IRL to freak out the fam at how nerdy I've become. Let's just keep that betwixt you and I though, mmmkay?
This is Fuubaar and Ful (and our buddy Opti), wishing you and yours a happy and safe holiday season:
